I am a young black woman, but I usually do not get caught up in the ridiculous rhetoric of people like Robert Johnson. I would consider myself very desensitized by off-the-cuff racial statements. But this one really pissed me off!! It was a snowball effect from him on down to Hillary. I remember my mother would talk about all of the Black ministers in Chicago that did not like Martin Luther King and hated the fact that he was coming to Chicago, “starting trouble”. In fact, Martin Luther King was disliked by many Black people throughout the nation. We “understood” why Whites hated him but never could figure out why Blacks were so stouchly opposed to a minister, a man of peace, when he was talking for the benefit of all. Many Blacks that did not like MLK are still alive today. They will be in churches, at assemblies and seated at banquet commending his greatness and singing the praises of this national hero while quietly, silently regretting being on the wrong side of history and living a lie when asked by their grand kids.

Now we have the first Black man to become President of the United States of America and again, as with Martin Luther King we will have Blacks on the wrong side of history. As a matter of fact, we have many Blacks that were friends of Martin Luther King against Barack Obama. It won’t matter if there are 10 Black presidents that succeed Obama. If you didn’t support the 1st Black President of the United States… and of course you’ll say you voted for him when it counted in the general election… you will still be like that old man clapping at the banquet, amenning at church and giving the ovation at the assembly. Hillary claims to be tough enough to play with the boys when, in fact, she is unable to leave a cheating husband. How will she stand up to other male leaders who see this in “Mrs.” Clinton and walk all over her?
• Being married to a former President does not make one qualified to be President.
Hillary has less experience in elected office than Barack. She’s held elected office for one Senate term plus one year and has introduced no major legislation during that time. She showed us in the interview about Pakistani elections the extent of her foreign policy experience–she did not know what office the election was for or who was on the ballot! Is this the kind of experience we want in the Oval Office?
