A Reality Check You Can Believe In
The race wil turn again today. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama will emerge from Super Tuesday Part II as co-front-runners. That’s the consensus of more and more Democrats watching this race from the trenches and from afar.
The most likely scenario tonight, according to top officials in both campaigns, is Clinton wins Ohio and Rhode Island comfortably and fights Obama to a tie or ekes out a victory in Texas in the popular vote. The only safe state in the Obama column this morning, by mutual agreement of both camps, is Vermont.
The question in Texas is who wins the pledged delegates alloted from the primary and subsequent caucuses. Obama could win the delegate hunt while still losing the popular vote because of the weighting of delegates in African-America state senate districts and those allocated through the caucus process where Obama’s grassroots organization may out-perform Clinton’s.
Obama’s Texas operatives have grown more nervous about Obama’s prospects in Texas since Friday. They readily concede the “3 a.m.” ad from Clinton changed the dynamic and undecided voters began to move toward Clinton over the weekend.
Clinton’s lead in Ohio, according to Clinton field organizers, sits at about 6 points but there is a sense that late-breaking voters — as they have in the past — are moving toward Clinton and her margin of victory could exceed 6 points there.
Already, the Obama camp is out with a Super Tuesday Part II pre-buttal. Chief spokesman Bill Burton sent the following e-mail to campaign reporters at 9 a.m. EST:
“The Clinton campaign said this race was all about delegates and that they would be tied or ahead by morning. But despite the 20-point lead in Ohio and Texas that Senator Clinton had just two weeks ago, we will still be well ahead in delegates tonight and they will have failed at achieving their plainly stated goals. They have floated proposal after proposal to try to subvert the will of Democratic voters and retrospectively change the rules of the nominating process, but the bottom line is that it will still be virtually impossible for them to catch up in delegates after tonight.”
To this, Howard Wolfson, Clinton’s communications director, had this direct response to The Bourbon Room placing that Burton quote before him on a conference call with reporters at 11:30 a.m EST:
“First, I would invite anyone on this call to judge, based on those remarks, who thinks there in a better position in Ohio and Texas. Two, here’s the bottom line: this party is not going to nominate someone against John McCain who can’t pass the commander in chief test and can’t pass the steward of the economy test. And I think we’re going to see tonight voters saying Sen. Obama has not passed that test. I think it is that simple. We are simply not going to nominate someone who voters have doubts about as commander in chief and steward of the economy.”
Since Clinton, as The Bourbon Room noted Sunday, framed Texas as the place for the debate on national security and Ohio as the place for the debate on stewardship of the economy, that was Wolfson’s way of predicting victories in Texas and Ohio — without actually saying so.
The results tonight will raise significant questions about Obama’s campaign, some of which are already being asked in Democratic circles.
Why wasn’t his campaign able to win these four contests and definitively end the fight for the nomination, especially after having a massive financial advantage that blanketed the airwaves in Texas and Ohio with ads that ran four and five times more frequently than Clinton’s (last Thursday night in Houston, The Bourbon Room saw 10 Obama ads in the space of an hour without seeing one Clinton ad). The true party experts will also ponder, if Obama fails to win Ohio and Texas, how the grassroots and TV and radio ad efforts of the Service Employees International Union and United Food and Commerical Workers. These endorsements were supposed to cement Obama’s hold on both states and give him the added organizational power and media message to put both big states away. Increasingly, it appears these organizational and media advantages will have been squandered.
This could raise new questions in the mind of Superdelegates as to Obama’s staying power and political prowess. The Obama camp will argue that it trailed badly to Clinton in both states, fought hard and lost but still leads in pledged delegates and the race is still, basically, over. That’s the core of Burton’s argument above. They will further argue that Superdelegates should move to Obama to avoid a nasty seven-week campaign in Pennsylvania where Obama is going to be bloodied by Clinton and weakened for the upcoming contest with McCain.
The Clinton camp will argue that where it has fought Obama and fought him hard, it has won and that MUST matter. The Clinton camp has stalled defections of Superdelegates by privately making — in so many words — the following argument: don’t defect to Obama, not until March 4. Let us fight until March 4 and if we win, stay neutral or re-evaluate Hillary as a potential nominee.
Many Superdelegates have accepted this wait-and-see approach. The ones — about 40 — who have gone to Obama were not willing to wait and feared that even if Clinton lost Ohio or Texas she wouldn’t drop out.
Clinton will clearly not drop out. She’s heading straight to Pennsylvania after her victory celebration and, as The Bourbon Room predicted on Sunday, we are now heading to Super Tuesday Part III.

I believe that in the end Obama will be history. People are realizing that most of what Obama is empty impossible promises. He has no substance. And the issue with Canada is plain to see. Clinton’s fighting the good fight, but now is the time for all good voters to come to the aid of their country by supporting Obama. It’s been amusing to watch the news media rush to pacify Clinton by giving her some slack and going on the offense against Barack Obama – behaving sort of like Clinton surrogates, without realizing it. Obama received more positive news coverage these past 2 months because his campaign has worked much more strategically and intelligently, and because he actually inspired a few hardened news media folk and commentators with his message of hope. Now I see the hope being sucked out of Obama and the rest of us who seek meaningful change in the way we do business. Obama would do well to go back to his original themes and not let himself be defined by Clinton, talk radio, or the news media.
It is a day of firsts here in Texas. The first time the vote really counts. The first time for many people to participate in the caucus. It may be the first time Texas decides who the Democratic nominee and Presdent is. All this is too exciting. I am glad Clinton will not quit before Pennsylvania. No matter what happens today in Texas the vote is close enough to give her every right to keep going forward to try to win in Denver. Democrats are known for backing whoever is the nominee in the end anyway. Obama does not need to fear being dragged through the mud by Hillary any more than by the Republicans.
I totally agree with the Major’s assessment. This race is extremely important. In fact, it is far too important for anyone to “drop out.” To Obama I say, ” If you love this country and think you are better prepared to be president at this time, then fight to defend that belief.” To Hillary I say, ” I have never been more proud of a woman (except my mother and my daughter) than I am of you today. You are a fighter, you are prepared, you know exactly what you want to do for the American people and you are ready to lead. Fight on until the last vote is counted.”
You want to know why Obama did not close out this contest on Tuesday? well we don’t know yet that he did not. But on the oft chance he did not was because the Tv all stations ran negative broadcast all week end including Monday on the eve of voting. Discussing old issues that had been resolved long ago, you did this just in case the white voters had not seen or heard this before. His religion (yet no ones what church or even if hillary even attends church)Name game again this weekend, shady friend’s trial, memo to canada, which has been disputed by canada. Now was this fair to parade all this negative press before the election? Running ads of the clintons campaigning all over texas and ohio, very postive ads. I know she can’t afford to pay for her ads but the TV sure gave her free press this weekend, Saturday night live, Jon Stewart, and don’t forget 60 minutes. Talk about out and out racial bias. I am a shame to call this my country. No where but America where a black man must defend everything, including the GOD he prays to at night. The qualifications for president by our own constitution states american born and over 35. I don’t understand how people think that Hillary Clinton has the experience to be the Commander-in-Chief? If a woman was the wife of an airline pilot, does that give her the expertise to fly the plane? Come On people – THINK! Hillary Clinton has no measurable experience to be the President any more than Barack Obama and they are virtually the same on most issues. If people want change, they need to vote for Obama instead of looking backwards at the old Clinton era they need to be looking forward to an opportunity to unite the country. Hillary is a polarizing person and not someone who will be able to bring the country together.
Since Hillary will continue to destroy the Democratic selection, she will drag all the fund to zero and let John McCain circle like a shark. I think the real Democrats in the nation ought to face reality: Obama has not won the “BASE” of the Democratic party. SUPERDELEGATES, it’s time to stand up and DO YOUR JOB!!!! You were created for this purpose – no one candidate has won enough delegates to put them over the top. YOU, YOU, YOU have to decide based on what is best for the Democratic party – who will win in November – who will not have hidden baggage brought out at the last minute to sabotage our chances and if both of those points are equal = WHO IS BEST QUALIFIED TO BE PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES?
Again viewing the breakout of election results (>90% of blacks voting for Obama and large majority of women supporting Clinton) I fear that:
Far too many are only interested in setting a precident.
When in these dangerous times they SHOULD be more concerned in seating a President.
When really objective it becomes totally obvious that George W. Bush by far is the worst, with Bill Clinton not far behind and then there is Hillary, McCain and several others, simply like spoiled, immature and irresponsible children, all seeking to satisfy their insatiable egos and feed their selfish greed. You can include people like Cheney, Rove, Condi Rice, Bill Frist, Tom Delay and others. It is as if they think it is just all about them. They say and do whatever they feel will get them what they want without conscience or sincere regard for honesty or responsibility – only being concerned for their prestige and power. They come on strong, throw the rhetoric around, manipulate public opinion, do whatever it takes and look for everyone to give them their desires without their having any caution or concern for other than getting what they want. They actually build endowments for themselves, for when they leave office, payback from the select few who they significantly benefit, without any regard for the real costs. All of it creates problems for the average American, for the country and even for the world, with the Iraq War being only just one example. The voters need to be totally diligent, to look long and hard at these personalities, to put their own biases aside to avoid being manipulated, and then to conscientiously decide. Is there one responsible, honest, quality and sincerely altruistic candidate available? I don’t know … but I do know there are those who aren’t, who are being given a whole lot of attention and who you just can’t trust no matter what they say! It isn’t just all about them but when they act that way, it is a real indication that they aren’t going to do the job.
What is the point of holding these primary’s and cauceses if the decision is going to be based on super delagates. Instead of making us citizens feel like we actually have a say why dont we just set our nominees in a room with these super delegates and have a vote on who they would like to be our candidate? It would a lot of time and money for everyone, right? What is the stinking stupid point of superdelegates? That is just saying that america is lead by the people but there are more important people than the people of this country and what the lesser important people think doesnt matter but thanks for wasting your time voting!

Fox news wants to talk about that they are fair and balanced, but in reality they are not. As the Tony Rezko trial begins in Chicago, Clinton and her surrogates are linking Obama to Rezko and the media is speculating about whether Obama will be called to testify as a witness in the case. Obama has always admitted he received $85,000 in contributions from Rezko which Obama has now donated to charity rather than keep.
Yet the civil fraud trial of Bill Clinton for defrauduing Hillary’s largest donor in 2000 into giving her campaign more than $1.2 million, pending in Los Angeles courts since 2003, is now preparing for a November, 2008 trial. The discovery that is now proceeding after a February 21 hearing, and the pending trial, have NEVER been announced by the mainstream media.
Hillary was able to extricate herself as a co-defendant in the case in January, 2008 after years of appeals to be protected by the First Amendment from tort claims arising out of federal campaign solicitations she made. Her abuse of the intent of California’s anti-SLAPP law after the California Supreme Court refused to dismiss her from the case in 2004 is emblematic of her contempt for the Rule of Law.
Hillary will be called as a witness in both discovery and the trial according to the trial court Judge who so-advised Hillary’s attorney David Kendall when he dismissed Hillary as a co-defendant in 2007. A subpoena is being prepared this month and will be served personally on Hillary, along with Chelsea, Pa Gov. Ed Rendell, Al Gore and other well known political and media figures.
Yet the media has refused to report about this landmark civil fraud case- brought by Hillary’s biggest 2000 donor to her Senate race, regarding allegations that were corroborated by the Department of Justice in the criminal trial of Hillary’s finance director David Rosen in May, 2005. That indictment and trial was credited as resulting from the civil suit’s allegations by Peter Paul, the Hollywood dot com millionaire Bill Clinton convinced to donate more than $1.2 million (according to the DOJ prosecutors and the FBI) to Hillary’s Senate campaign as part of a post White House business deal with Bill.
The media – except for World Net Daily- has also suspiciously refused to report on Hillary’s last FEC report regarding her 2000 Senate campaign, filed in January 30, 2006. In a secret settlement of an FEC complaint by the plaintiff in Paul v Clinton, Peter Paul, the FEC fined Hillary’s campaign $35,000 for hiding more than $720,000 in donations from Paul, and it required Hillary’s campaign to file a 4th amended FEC report.
In that report Hillary and her campaign again hid Paul’s $1.2 million contribution to her campaign and falsely attributed $250,000 as being donated by Paul’s partner, Spider Man creator Stan Lee, who swore in a video taped deposition he never gave Hillary or her campaign any money.
Lee did testify to trading $100,000 checks with Paul to make it appear he gave $100,000 to Hillary’s campaign (admission of a felony) but none of that has been reported by the “overly critical” media!
Where is the outrage from Obama that the press is engaging in a double standard relating to his possible role in the Rezko trial and his refunding the $85,000 contributed to his campaign by Rezko- which Obama has always admitted taking. The media makes no mention of Hillary’s role as a witness in Bill’s fraud trial for defrauding Hillary’s largest donor- and Hillary’s refusal to refund the $1.2 million she illegally received from Paul, which she has denied taking from Paul ever since the Washington Post asked her about Paul and his felony convictions from the 1970’s before her first Senate election in 2000?

I am an Obama supporter, but am now taking another look at Hillary Clinton. I am turned off by the way Obama has handled the Wright situation so far. I felt offended by the way he seemed to stereotype whites as racist in his comment about how his grandmother is a “typical white”. I felt inspired by his words and campaign of hope, but his essential acceptance of Wrights words in church casts doubt onto his judgment. I am now concerned if my judgment that Obama was the stronger candidate against McCain was correct. I hope the media continues to pursue this story, because I for one still have concerns about the inconsistencies in Obama’s story and the impact of this controversy on his electability in the general election.
Now that the American people are aware of Obama’s 20 year association with the anti-American, racist rants of his mentor/advisor Wright (and Moss) … polls are already showing a dramatic drop in the polls for Obama. Had the American people known about this Obama/Wright association a year ago, Obama would not be ahead in popular votes, or delegates at this point in time … in fact, he probably wouldn’t even still be in the race. This type of situation is exactly why super delegates exist … and, if they continue to support Obama, it will guarantee McCain’s victory in November. The Democrats’ only hope for victory in November’s general election is HIllary Clinton.
It appears that Hillary has done everything she can think of to change the outcome of the democratic parties election. But to no avail, will she gracefully accept her parties election results or will she continue down the path of destruction and mayhem for the democratic party.

If Obama wins in Pennsylvania, it will be really sad. If these people were to watch Hannity & Colmes they would learn things about Obama, that he doesn’t want them to know. Something called the truth about his record and his lies. They talk about Hillary but they are so careful to hide as much as they can from the public. I also read one of Obama’s books because Ann Coulter(Sp) made a comment about it and said don’t believe me read his book. She was right god help us. If he is elected then we deserve what we get. People please educate yourself, find out what is coming out about Obama that should have come out a long time ago. I also wonder how many people would have not voted for him, had they known then what they know now?
I love his positive vibe and message! Obama includes ALL people and that means the Rev. Wright, Ayers, Rezco , etc. If they did teach him anything, they taught him NOT to be like them.

key placements whom many are pre-selected and
paid for, in a sole purpose creating an atmosphere
of intense excitement within each and every one of
within his rallied, choreographed and disingenuous
speeches. That are mixed in along with many who
are Anti-American Extremists, and Paid Fainters.
Given precise in interpreted intervals of Barack’s
alleged impromptu; meticulously; memorized; and
repeated from within his many propitious speech’s
that has been personally and favorably to most all
and likely leading all those breathlessly to his
success.
All and all, he may cautiously and continuously try
to deny, and denounce, and with the same slyness
in his own claimed disownments of a past seeming
to linger to haunt him, however there still underlined
within each in a certain deep down question that any
logical person is left asking as to his honesty. And
as well to his integrity in these not so superficial but
now growing excess baggage’s Barrack has slowly
been being vetted with still challenged and just to
who are they really intrusting to be a candidate of
our and (not his) white house, as well (our) and not
his potential position given of the highest office.
Now has approached beyond these questions of

fatally flawed, and limited that without the power
of high position in the (pyramid) of (power) that he,
Barrack Obama does now seek and as well as if
not even stronger is the same desire of his wife
Michelle. But it is not just he alone but those that
have given him assertion through there ascension.
The very reason being throughout the many years
who always tried, by persuasion, and have failed
in its own short lived and many abuses… As once
it has become exposed it is doomed to its failure
and a reason by most to become easily indifferent.
Just as: Bill Clinton, stated: “It is best to let the
whole entire thing work itself out by the American
Public, all for themselves, as it is just a matter time
that the public will soon figure it out for themselves”
Basically In simplifying this, for the general audience
and is my intent and general purpose in this paper in
doing just that, to the exposing of: Barrack Obama…
In conclusion; Liberal Extremists, Anti-War Activists
to the lower end of the totem pole and I do not mean
all of those, not including 99% Percent of all, of our
American Indians in any color, as that would be us
and the entire U ,S , and of course Tiger woods and
Sweden before them in some distant past.
Are those lowly …Terrorists, already knowing that
even Barrack’s writing staff reads all my papers just
how else would they be so adaptive and innovative
as that bizarre analogy of excluding no-one being left
out last night in Illinois. Beware what you put down
in your script’s Barrack, as if I do not have ears all of
my own even long before your very first campaigns.
Young Man … I’ve been known to even chew the hell
out of George, and I keep a copy of everything and
that includes his father before he, was the President.
And there just could be a slight fee and that means
(you) Mister! Uh huh… And I’m not talking about your
little pocket book … There’s a little original story I will
tell you … Wealth is easy to obtain, the trick is all in
keeping it! And wisdom, is far, few, and in between ~

and it sounds about like this …
You can hang out at the fish market with the boys, or a
few of your close friends, and try to convince all your local
Nabors; that you never, bought, were given, a single fish. Or

hard in all of that convincing, when your very own wife in there the
kitchen preparing dinner with all of her very own kitchen windows left
wide open…
