Clinton Post-June 3 Strategy

The Clinton campaign is strategizing ways to persuade undecided superdelegates to back the former first lady for the Democratic presidential nomination and is laying the ground work for a public campaign to woo them to her side.

Clinton Campaign Chairman Terry McAuliffe denied any public effort to lobby undecided superdelegates is currently contemplated. But numerous sources inside the campaign and sympathetic to it told FOX News that a battle plan is being put together to use any and all possible resources to lobby superdelegates.

Among the ideas under regular discussion is to carry out public rallies, use direct mail and television spots in order to generate broader public support for undecided superdelegates to side with Clinton.

Part of the argument the Clinton campaign will use in this and every other outreach to superdelegates will be that the race is very close in terms of delegates and popular votes.

Clinton touched on this theme Tuesday night, citing the closeness of the race and the “he wins one, she wins one” nature of the campaign.

The other big selling point, also hit by Clinton tonight, is “to count all the votes.”

This is a reference to Michigan and Florida, which Clinton said shouldn’t be left out of delegate calculations, as they are now due to Democratic National Committee sanctions. Clinton said the nominee shouldn’t be chosen “by 48 states.”

This election is fixed and you know it. I hope the media is having a great time putting Hillary down as well as her family. Gary county is doing something really bad and that would be fraud, just like they do in our small town. To call people who work hard and make 50 to 60 k a year as being lower class people is just sick. Bring out Rezko Barack’s buddy are you waiting until hillary has been swift voted out.

Attention all Hillary supporters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Please send a thank you card to our friend Rush Limbaugh for disillusioning us into believing that Senator Clinton was the formidable winner in those states that allow Republicans the right to vote in Democratic primaries.

Don’t believe the general election projections that some of her supporters are promoting, many Republicans voted for Hillary in primaries in Texas, Indiana and several other states.

Barack Obama will win the Democratic nomination and subsequently the general election for President of the United States.

I believe Clinton need to stop murmuring and complaining about the Michigan and Florida votes. Rules are rules and must be followed. Do you risk entertaining a future of chaos as different states starts to follow Michigan and Florida examples. Michigan and Florida is not above the law. Clinton should avoid creating any further mess. If she does, then it can clearly be seen that she is being a cry baby who must always get her ways.

Hillary keeps on fighting about the Michigan ballot where she was the only person listed. Did she get this from Josef Stalin’s memoirs that her handling of the situation clearly shows where her heart is. Tell you what, lets remove her name from the remaining states and see how her Holiness feels about it.

Nobody is even writing about the real crock that caused this issue in the first place. What in the Hell entitles the citizens of Iowa and New Hampshire to knock out so many promising campaigns each year. Do not give me this crap about taking their duties seriously — because they have no duties.

I live in Colorado and want to see my state jump in front of Iowa next time around. I have been through the Constitution and Iowa has no legal rights. Same thing with Federal Laws.

I would love to see the RNC and DNP Chairman of several states to sue the National GOP and DNC parties after this election to get the old rules thrown out.

The US has spent about 48 billion of our tax dollars on this war (that we all know was based on a lie) …not counting the cost of medical benefits that our brave soldiers need & deserve for many years to follow.

Iraq has banked about 46 billion, with record profits, while US citizens are paying record prices at the pumps. Greedy oil people do not care about middle class America. Can you say “Bush”? In no way do I want McCain who is for this war.

No matter who wins the election it’s time Iraq picks up the tab for this war. We need to train the Iraq people to rebuild their Country with their money and finish training the Iraq people to fight for themselves.

It has been reported we have enough oil in the US for 100 yrs. We should use that while we fund and develop a new fuel alternative. The US is smart enough to do this and not to let the greedy oil people hurt the middle and lower classes and cause wars over a product that is hurting our environment in the first place.

Then lets get into Afghanistan full force and do what we should have done it the first place. Get “Bin Laden” the real threat and terrorist. Then get out just as quickly. Lets win back the respect from the World. We know who was responsible for taking down the towers and who was responsible for the many Americans who were hurt or lost their life. I will never understand why Bush was not impeached. And don’t tell me to get over that lie…it cost to many to much.

Its time to get things right & I think Hillary is the best person to fix this mess.

If Hillary should lose then I hope Obama has the experience needed for the job and the backing to beat McCain.

And again all citizens vote should count which means all in Florida and Michigan as that is the American way.

The delegates in Florida and Michigan should count. It is a BIG part
of the voting process for all states and is only fair. I will never see this
as a fair election without them being counted. I think if we do not
count them many people will lose favor with the democratic party and
Switch to Republicans.

I made several trips to the voting percents in NC today…. taking elderly
people to vote. Several were Independents who voted for Hillary or
Obama. All felt it was only fair to count the voters and delegates
In Florida and Michigan.

I still do not understand this lady. You cannot be for something and against it at the same time. Make up your mind lady…….. either you are for the VOICE of the ELECTORATE or against it………. don’t jump from one site to the other, depending on how it favors you. One: If you are insisting that Michigan and Florida should be seated; so as to make sure the electorate is well represented and respected…….. although your fellow contender’s name was not on the ballot in Michigan how democratic is that??????? Two: If you really want the people to be well represented and respected; following your Florida and Michigan principle, wouldn’t it just be fair for the superdelegates to decide on the nominee, as a mirror image of the primary and caucaus election results????????? It looks like democratic principles only work for you when you are winning and when you are losing, the rules don’t apply. They should be manipulated to still make you win. Before I forget: RULES ARE RULES. Without them, we would only be existing in chaos.

I guess anyone who believes in democracy, would agree that to seat Michigan like it is, would be a very UNDEMOCRATIC thing to do……….. the ballot did not have the name of Barack Obama on it.

What a polarizing primary this is.
Blacks against whites, according to the results.
If that stays the same, McCain is a shoe-in.
We don’t need the Dems racist primary.
92% of blacks voted for skin color!
They didn’t care about Obama’s anti-American friends and associates!
You would think the Dems would put a black man up who loves this country!
I like Hillary, but her party has lost their minds!

Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi , they dont care about the American people!!!!They will hand us all over to a guy who wants to destroy us, because of their own personal HATE for Hillary!!

I HOPE HILLARY CLINTON SPLITS THE DEMOCRATIC PARTY WIDE OPEN, TO EXPOSE THEIR CONVOLUTED VOTING RULES, IT ARCANE CAUCUSES, IT THREE LEVELS OF DELEGATES, ITS SUPERDELEGATES AND WORST OF ALL THEIR PERMITTING REPUBLICANS TO VOTE IN THEIR PRIMARY..

IMAGINE PERMITTING YOUR COMPETITION THE REPUBLICANS TO CHOOSE THE CANDIDATE THAT THEY WANT TO RUN AGAINST. WHAT IS THAT, JEEZ… STUPIDITY TO THE NTH DEGREE…

EVEN THE INDEPENDENT SHOULD NOT BE PERMITTED TO VOTE IN THE PRIMARIES… SURE THEY SHOULD DEFINITELY HAVE THEIR VOTE IN A GENERAL ELECTION BUT SINCE THEY ARE NOT REGISTERED DEMOCRATICS THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THAT RIGHT, IT IS THE CHOICE OF TRUE DEMOCRATS TO CHOOSE THEIR LEADER

AND WHAT IS THIS OTHER HILARIOUS PERMISSION, WHEREIN A REPUBLICAN CAN CHANGE HIS AFFILIATION IN ORDER TO VOTE IN A PRIMARY ELECTION AND THEN CHANGE HIS AFFILIATION FOR THE GENERAL ELECTION….

IF THIS WERE THE THIRD WORLD SYSTEM OF VOTING AMERICANS WOULD BE ALL OVER THAT GOVERNMENT WITH CHARGES OF POSSIBLE FRAUD.

GOD, IF NOTHING ELSE THIS DEMOCRATIC PRIMARY HAS EXPOSED HUNDREDS OF LOOP HOLES THAT CAN BE USED TO SWING A PRIMARY…. SAD, VERY VERY SAD!

This morning from the Obama camp, let me post the letter that David Plouffe sent out late last night to the superdelegates (why this is not newsworthy is a little puzzling to me):

“There are only six contests remaining in the Democratic primary
calendar and only 217 pledged delegates left to be awarded. Only 7
percent of the pledged delegates remain on the table. There are 260
remaining undeclared superdelegates, for a total of 477 delegates left
to be awarded.

With North Carolina and Indiana complete,
Barack Obama only needs 172 total delegates to capture the Democratic
nomination. This is only 36% of the total remaining delegates.

Conversely,
Senator Clinton needs 326 delegates to reach the Democratic nomination,
which represents a startling 68% of the remaining delegates.

With
the Clinton path to the nomination getting even narrower, we expect new
and wildly creative scenarios to emerge in the coming days. While those
scenarios may be entertaining, they are not legitimate and will not be
considered legitimate by this campaign or its millions of supporters,
volunteers, and donors.

We believe it is exceedingly unlikely
Senator Clinton will overtake our lead in the popular vote and in fact
lost ground on that measure last night. However, the popular vote is a
deeply flawed and illegitimate metric for deciding the nominee – since
each campaign based their strategy on the acquisition of delegates.
More importantly, the rules of the nomination are predicated on
delegates, not popular vote.

Just as the Presidential election
in November will be decided by the electoral college, not popular vote,
the Democratic nomination is decided by delegates.

If we
believed the popular vote was somehow the key measurement, we would
have campaigned much more intensively in our home state of Illinois and
in all the other populous states, in the pursuit of larger raw vote
totals. But it is not the key measurement. We played by the rules, set
by you, the DNC members, and campaigned as hard as we could, in as many
places as we could, to acquire delegates. Essentially, the popular vote
is not much better as a metric than basing the nominee on which
candidate raised more money, has more volunteers, contacted more
voters, or is taller.

The Clinton campaign was very clear
about their own strategy until the numbers become too ominous for them.
They were like a broken record , repeating ad nauseum that this
nomination race is about delegates. Now, the word delegate has
disappeared from their vocabulary, in an attempt to change the rules
and create an alternative reality.

We want to be clear – we
believe that the winner of a majority of pledged delegates will and
should be the nominee of our party. And we estimate that after the
Oregon and Kentucky primaries on May 20, we will have won a majority of
the overall pledged delegates According to a recent news report, by
even their most optimistic estimates the Clinton Campaign expects to
trail by more than 100 pledged delegates and will then ask the
superdelegates to overturn the will of the voters.

But of
course superdelegates are free to and have been utilizing their own
criteria for deciding who our nominee should be. Many are deciding on
the basis of electability, a favorite Clinton refrain. And if you look
at the numbers, during a period where the Clinton campaign has been
making an increasingly strident pitch on electability, it is clear
their argument is failing miserably with superdelegates.

Since
February 5, the Obama campaign has netted 107 superdelegates, and the
Clinton campaign only 21. Since the Pennsylvania primary, much of it
during the challenging Rev. Wright period, we have netted 24 and the
Clinton campaign 17.

At some point – we would argue that time
is now – this ceases to be a theoretical exercise about how
superdelegates view electability. The reality of the preferences in the
last several weeks offer a clear guide of how strongly superdelegates
feel Senator Obama will perform in November, both in building a winning
campaign for the presidency as well as providing the best electoral
climate across the country for all Democratic candidates.

It
is important to note that Senator Obama leads Senator Clinton in
superdelegate endorsements among Governors, United States Senators and
members of the House of Representatives. These elected officials all
have a keen sense for who our strongest nominee will be in November.

It is only among DNC members where Senator Clinton holds a lead, which has been rapidly dwindling.

As
we head into the final days of the campaign, we just wanted to be clear
with you as a party leader, who will be instrumental in making the
final decision of who our nominee will be, how we view the race at this
point.

Senator Obama, our campaign and our supporters believe
pledged delegates is the most legitimate metric for determining how
this race has unfolded. It is simply the ratification of the DNC rules
– your rules – which we built this campaign and our strategy around

*Certified Primaries are the true will of the people HILLARY WON THE MOST, not
chaotic, fraudulent caucauses where Obama has won the most.

Obama has opposed to a redo in Florida and Michigan to his benefit yet he said he
opposed ro a redo or validation because he was going by the rules of the game.
Soooo, since he likes to go by the rules he will have to respect the SUPERDELEGATES
RULES they will vote for the candidate
better qualified and experienced, not necessarily for the one with most caucauses
votes or more money $$ unless SUPERDELEGATES are bought and corrupted too by

Here it comes again… The time for me to decide whether or not I should start telling friends I support McCain or if I should keep cheering Hillary on. I am an Independent voter and am unable to vote in the Kentucky primaries. I am certain that Hillary will win the Kentucky primary, however, if she is unable to clinch the Democratic Nomination in the end, I am afraid I will have to vote for McCain. I think that the Superdelegates should consider the thought of Independent voters switching from Democratic to Republican favor because study polls don’t count everyone… They should also consider Hillary supporters, self-declared Democrats, to end up voting for McCain since many do not like Obama… One person can make a difference.

Hillary has to go on. It would be a disaster for Obama to become president. He would bring too much baggage into the white house in the form of his past associates and even his wife with her comments against the country. He strikes me as a weak person with bad judgements. How could anyone say he’d vote against a war when his president was saying one of our enemies possessed weapons of mass destruction that he would likely use against the our people. He should know that no one wants war, but we must stand strong and protect our country. Every time we get a new president it seems that others countries that don’t process the freedom we have try to test the strength and convictions of that new president. Obama in my opinion would fail that test if it occurred in his term of office.
One college student said that he believed that Rev. Wright’s speech was a “set up” providing an opportunity for Obama to distant himself from Wright. I believe that too. Wright is too smart to make a complete fool of himself like that. He said it himself. “Obama says what he has to as a politician”. A person does not sit in a church for 20 years worshiping a pastor and then suddenly he is over him. No, No, No. It was a “set up”. Remember, “Barack Hosane Obama”. He said it three times as though he was making fun of those who were foolish enough to fall for Obama’s rhetoric. Won’t we look like a country of idiots if Obama is using the voters as he used his church, his friends, and the American people to further his cause. The people he has associated with in the past want one thing. The control of our country to farther their agenda.
take it from that 100 year old woman you kissed on the cheek as he sat viewing your motorcade. She held a sign saying “GO GIRL GO.” Well, do it.

Michigan and Florida’s votes should be counted. How can we be a Nation that advocates
Democracy, have other countries change to democracy, and make such a mess of it? IF, Iraq would have left votes out from a group of voters, the Democtats would have been yelling their heads off and saying they did not understand Democracy.
Well Take a look at us now!!
It is unbelieveable that we could have a man running for the whitehouse that has no experience, and with such a sorted back ground, and the people in the US are just blindly following him to the slaughter.
The Democrats and the media have not done their job in Vetting Obama. He and his wife have brought doubt and divisiveness into this campaign and are blaming everyone else. Now they are in to blaming Hillary. I am not a Hillary fan, but she has been treated so unfairly. Now no matter what is said by anyone, they are called racist.
It is okay for the media to keep telling us that whites are voting for Hillary and blacks for Obama, but if she says it, she is a racist……….
I hope that before it is too late that the media reports the real stories about Obama’s ralationships with the Chicago group of friends and associates. They should also report that his cousin Odinga in Kenya was running against the party that is allied with America against terrorism, and when he lost the eletion he had his people burn, kill and loot. That if he had won, he was to reinstate Sheria Law and the muslims would have taken over again. That Obama went to Kenya and rallied for Odinga. Michelle Obama’s Thesis should be made public, and all the comments against white people that Barak Obama wrote in his books are also fair game. No one has the guts to bring those out.
What is happening to our sense of right and wrong………?
This has nothing to do with RACE, it has to do with credibility?
This whole democratic procress has been screwed up and noone seems to care.
You just mark my words, that no matter what McCain says in the campaign, he will be called unfair to Obama, and a racist.
I am 65 years young, and so sorry to see our Democracy come to this.

We need a Professional & Hillary is that. I hope the Superdeleghates come to their senses. This is more serious than just Hope , red states and blue states….I’ve heard that speech over and over, I know it by heart now. LOL Linda

Comment by Mike Watry

It appears to me that HRC continues to campaign because the Clintons risk becoming irrelevant if Obama wins the Presidency. Obama would draw from the Clintons all of the attention, celebrity and speaking fees that the Clintons now enjoy. Therefore the Clintons continue to campaign in order to take advantage of the opportunity to “legitimately” destroy Obama (p/o rough and tumble of the campaign). The Clintons hope that Obama doesn’t win, so that, again, they will retain their role and King and Queen of the Dem Party and that HRC can claim that she had warned people that Obama couldn’t win - and that she was right! In 4 years, she’ll run again - perhaps her last chance. If Obama wins the Presidency, she won’t be able to directly challenge him and he may win another term, pushing HRC’s next chance out 8 years. At that time she’ll be too old (and tired) to do this all over again.
