More Names on McCain “Truth Squad”

Conference call on McCain “Truth Squad” just beginning and the roster has grown dramatically.

It now includes Sen. John Warner of Virginia, former chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Col. Robert “Bud” McFarland (former National Security Adviser to President Reagan), and retired Navy Admiral Leighton Smith.

Orson Swindle started off the call by describing Clark’s line of argument as “unworthy” that left him “pretty disappointed.”

Smith said McCain’s squadron was “large and difficult to command” and while it didn’t have a major combat role was nevertheless important as a maintenance and training squadron. He said it was “inconceivable” anyone could question McCain’s fitness as a commander-in-chief due to his leadership of his Navy squadron.

Col. Day said Hanoi was the most “heavily defended city in the world” and that McCain’s willingness to fly a mission over the city speaks to his heroism and war-time grit. He called Clark’s remarks “political shenanigans.”

Well we know Obama and his “followers” will have nothing to do with the truth…..Just one more difference between the two. I can’t believe any military person would say something like that about someone that was a POW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The Dom. party is just sad. Hey, maybe thats why I re-registered Republican!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Or atleast one more reason!

So all prisoners of war are automatically qualified to be commander-in-chief? Why? And isn’t it better to have someone as president whose sole background first reaction to world crisis ISN’T war? Let’s not forget the KEATING 5 and how criminals were protected by McCain, as elderly couples lost their life’s savings.

As an Obama supporter I have to say that it was absolutely poor phrasing, but gen. Clark’s comments were dead on. There is no job, I repeat NO JOB that can prepare you for the job of President. Do not forget that it is not just Commander-in-Chief; it is a position that encompasses so much more than war and/or threats of war. It calls for intelligence, a calm demeanor, and honesty.
When it is summed up like that I think the only logical choice is Obama. I cannot trust McCain who has flipped and flopped around issues to please his unenthusiastic base. I do not blindly follow Obama, I disagree with him on several issues; but it’s the best thing we got going today and damn, can he talk.
Yes, that is important, if we want to be world leaders, we must be able to speak to the world.

I think Sen McCain’s military service is highly overrated.

I do not think Sen McCain or his team have given us any real concrete evidence as to why his military service qualifies him to be Commander in Chief. Yes, he was a POW and yes, he commanded a non-combat naval fleet. But that does not guarantee he would make good decisions or could effectively deal with modern day world issues. After all, look at his vote to go to war in Iraq.

I do not trust McCain with his hand on the red button or even a blue one. Moreover, I am not comfortable that he would give the right answer on that 3AM phone call.

No but the Democrats don’t insult my intelligence with rhetorical drivel like “truth squads” or a color-coated terrorist warning system. And when the Democrats lie to me, its normally not about substantial matters like manipulating the US attorney’s office, outing a CIA operative to settle a political vendetta, or (and the winner is) sending American troops to War in an oil rich with conveniently erroneous intelligence presumptions and a reprehensibly idiotic geopolitical strategy. No, the democrats usually only lie about scandalous encounters, alleged sniper fire and campaign finance strategies. I expect ALL politicians to lie, I would just rather their lies not result in the death of thousands of American soldiers, the crash of the dollar, a near recession economy or any of the other horrible tragedies that has befallen our country under a republican president. I would rather my president’s lies make me chuckle, not ruin my life.

Remember how Kerry described his ‘fellow’ swift boaters. Same characters spreading lies now as then — welcome to the world of dems. Gas prices should have gone up slower? -not that someone might be planning to destroy our economy within 6 months of election. What supporter took the UK banks down/maybe more effective with oil prices.

All the more reason for reasonable people to question Obama’s judgement because his supporters, people like W. Clark, have flippant judgement and can be dangerous to others. Last I checked, NATO is not in the US.
Obama, unlimately must answer to his supporters, like Clark. It seems to me Clark is very ambitious and using all tactics will try to secure his place in an Obama admin. Very Frightening. Actually this makes a good car sticker “OBAMA: VERY FRIGHTENING”

Obama said people would try to portray him as “scary”…….well he and the Obama machine and Wes Clark are doing a very good job themselves. People that would try to make John McCains war record an issue…………is pretty sickening. I have now decided……..I do not want Obama or the people behind him running the Country…….The United States Of America. I am proud of our Country………and yes, if Obama seems scary……that is because of the people he associates with……and I am afraid that Obama will say and do anything to get to the White House.
