Sure, he’s right to be more flexible now, and it makes sense to try and get some “wiggle room” now. It also would have made sense not to take such a stiff, uncompromising position on the matter earlier (that is, aside from a need to get war-weary voters to jump on the bandwagon).

I sincerely like a few things Obama has said. But he’s dropped his pants more than a few times too. What I’d respect is somebody saying “I may have been hasty…” , or “my opponent might have a point there, though I don’t agree completely..” , but you don’t hear that too often. Usually it’s “my comments were taken out of context” or “that has been my position all along”. Obama sure isn’t the only one to have done it, but he doesn’t have any room to point fingers either.

i agree with Davis_Res but i mean, come on! why didnt he see the truth in the first place? if anyone has forgotten, the prime minister wants us to get the heck out of there!!!! if its neccessary, then we should stay, but not forever! i highly doubt we are really helping them anymore.

What utter BS to keep people confused. “Loss of stability if we go”, you mean we will loose our foothold on that oil, and there is NO WAY that is going to happen. We invaded, installed a puppet “government” tat has “invited” us to stay permanently and has just signed over 85% of the oil rights to the same four oil corporations that Saddam had the cohones to throw out. According to some people, anyone who doesn’t walk over a cliff because it’s in his way is a flip-floper. Why don’t these people realize the administration’s refusal to look at reality is what’s been leading us over this cliff all along?

Normal people look at the facts and make decisions. Cheney and his millionaire buddies want you to keep your blinders on and act on their crazies ideas alone, refusing to acknoweldge reality. Don’t be dumb. I’ll be honest…four fifths of the people on here are working for someone (from either party) spreading propaganda.
