Virginia Rep. Eric Cantor under closer McCain scrutiny for Veep
Fox has learned through a Republican official familiar with the situation that four-term Virginia Republican Eric Cantor is undergoing intense document reviews by John McCain’s presidential campaign.
The source said personal documents of Cantor’s are under review as McCain and his Democratic rival, Barack Obama, have allowed the public face of their secretive vice presidential search process surface in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
While Cantor, a prodigious fund-raiser and current chief minority whip in the House, has emerged as a potential McCain running mate, Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine has is, at least publicly, the most visible official to be linked to Obama’s search process.
Cantor and McCain met privately weeks ago in the Hamptons and Cantor has helped raise more than $10 million from the Jewish community for McCain’s White House bid.
Cantor is the highest ranking Jewish Republican in Congress and his addition to the ticket is seen by Republicans as a pathway to Jewish support in Florida and a way to secure Virginia for McCain.
Cantor and Kaine’s consideration underscored the near-obsessional nature of both campaigns’ focus on winning Virginia’s 13 electoral votes.
Mark Warner, the Democratic candidate for Senate this year, recently polled to see who would be his toughest statewide opponent and, sources tell Fox, found that Cantor ran better statewide than Rep. Tom Davis and former Gov. Jim Gilmore.
Neither Cantor nor Kaine are certain running mate picks and interest in them could be as much diversion as a serious quest for a running mate. What is serious is the multi-layered chess game going on between the Obama and McCain camps over figuring out how to win Virginia.

He is well thought of, but this is a slim and none chance.
Senator Arlen Specter (1930- ) is the highest ranking Jewish Republican in Congress, not Rep. Cantor.
Why hasent Olimpia Snow in contention for McCain’s VP ??? She gets along with him. She works and plays well with others. Her “plain”appearance will not overshadow Sen Mc Cain ruggad good looks>
Not sure of Cantor’s qualifications, but hoping for ROMNEY for VP!!! All of the Republican candidates were basically good men, vs. Demos extremely nannies & destructive. Hand-outs help no one out of poverty. Working with businesses, creating jobs, helping people SUCCEEED will bring this country up again.
[...] of speculation, but it wouldn’t be a foolish decision, considering the Congressman polled the strongest among potential challengers to Mark Warner in the VA Senate race, has shown appeal among independents, and is well-admired in [...]
One again, nice reporting by Major Garrett. I completely understand why the campaigns want to keep silent about the VP process, but I can’t help but gobble up any info because it’s so important who the VP is.
That’s because McCain, who has poked conservatives in the eye so much we wince at the mention of his name, has, nonetheless, managed to secure the GOP nomination. As such, who the VP is will tell us whether to rally behind McCain enthusiastically (go door to door, phone, give money), start taking a harder look at Bob Barr (yikes!) or just sit this election out.
All is well if McCain nominates a good conservative. For me, Mitt Romney is far and away the best choice for VP because, frankly, he would have made a better President than McCain. So, having him on the ticket makes a lot of sense if McCain is looking at who’s ready from day one to lead our country, if needed.
If he wants to pick the best General Election VP, the answer is Romney again. While we can guess that Mr. Cantor may help with VA and FL and the Jewish vote, we know for a fact that Mitt will help with IA, NV, MI, MN, ME, UT & CO – states Romney won handily in the GOP primary. Many of these states Bush won by less than 5% in 2004 so having Romney help with these particular states sets him apart from Cantor, Pawlenty, Palin, Crist or Portman. They each add one or two key states – Romney adds 7 to 9 key states.
Net, net – Romney on the ticket may add 47 to 61 electors. Bush beat Kerry by only 34 electors. In addition, while Cantor may have helped McCain raise 10 million, Romney raised $100 million during the primary and can probably go back to those folks for even more in the general. As an added bonus, Romney is worth about $400 – $500 million himself – having a deep pocket on the ticket may prove useful if Obama’s friends (moveon.org, George Soros) try to stack the deck.
So, I still like Romney for VP and would encourage Mr. Cantor to continue his valuable work in the U.S. House – the McCain-Romney administration will need his help next January

Obama does and will continue to have his secrets. You need to learn to accept that he will never fully disclose his secrets.
For example:
1. Who paid for his trip to Pakistan in 1981;
2. Who is paying for his campaign;
3. Why he refused to register for Selective Service in July 1980;
4. Why he won’t release his birth certificate (and not the extraction he did release);
5. Why he won’t release his baptismal certificate;
6. Why he won’t tell about his relationship with murderer homosexual Donald Young;
7. Why he won’t tell what he did in Pakistan in 1981;
8. Why won’t he release his college transcripts;
etc. etc.
WHAT A DISGRACE!!! This is really getting scary!?
Obama The Patriot – Removes American Flag From His Plane
The Patriot Room Posted on Tuesday, July 22, 2008 8:11:07 AM by Bill Dupray
Barack Obama recently finished a $500,000 total overhaul of his 757.
And as part of the new design, he decided to remove the American flag from the tail…
What American running for President of the United States would remove the symbol of his country? And worse, he replaced the flag with it with a symbol of himself…? All American Presidential nominees planes have carried the American Flag – Even John Kerry.
Check it out….if you don;t believe me……
WE ARE NOW TURNING THE LIGHTS OUT ON DEMOCRATS IN NOVEMBER

MCCAIN AND OBAMA BOTH WANT TO APPEASE
AND PAMPER THE MILLIONS OF MEXICAN ILLEGALS
TRESPASSING IN OUR COUNTRY.
WE OUGHT TO FORCE MCCAIN AND OBAMA TO BE BORDER PATROL
AGENTS FOR THE REST OF THEIR LIVES WITH NO PAY .
With Lieberman whispering his ear and Cantor at his side, McBush risks placing himself and our country in the clutches of AIPAC [the America Israel Political Affairs Committee]. This trio of hawks is sure to increase the likelihood of America being suckered into another Middle East conflict that squanders our human and material resources and tests our morality. Israel would do more to help itself by tearing down its wall and engaging in serious negotiations with its neighbors.
Cantor is awesome. A TRUE conservative that people can get excited about (Finally!!) He has 20 years of elected experience and can talk to hard right, moderate, independent voters and connect with them. I saw his speak in Chicago and he was awesome. He electrified the crowd with his brand of straight talk. I kid you not there was a crush of people trying to talk to him. That is why I have been supporting him at http://www.ericcantor4vp.com. I believe again!!!
AND McCain-Cantor sounds great, as opposed to Obama-Biden!!
In my opinion,nationwide,I think Cantor is a mistake. Since I am for Obama , it sounds good to me!!!!!
IF. MR. McCain’s wanted to be the President his must do to pick MITT ROMNEY!! as VP overall.MITT ROMNEY!! the most strong economy, it’s will make a great boost for McCAIN.
THANK,
I am a former democrat – a yellow dog, dyed-in the-wool democrat – who actively supported the democrats, their agenda and their candidates. It never occurred to me that I would ever be anything else.
I began to take a long, hard look at what the democrats had given us: a socialist agenda cleverly disguised as “democracy,” more government, economic and social woes with more and more taxes accompanied by misuse of funds, liberal judges who are soft on crime and heavy on criminals’ rights, abortion on demand, gay rights, gun control, open borders and reduction in our military (resulting in a weakened national defense).
The democrats have bought the media and the unions. But they cannot have me. I am now registered as a Republican and will be voting Republican in November – regardless of who John McCain’s running mate is. This was a conscientious move on my part which I chose to make while I still had that choice available to me. I encourage others to follow suit. Do not be swept away in the tide of deceit, chaos and confusion.
IF McCain wants to win he should choose a conservative woman for Veep
