There is really only so far that that can go as well. The increased production will help for short bursts but it will not be sustained. The diversion of the workforce from their normal line of work to either being factory workers or soldiers undeniably hurts professions that have nothing to do with wartime needs. Also, a big reason why wars usually help is because they employ people. The sheer numbers of men recruited to the world wars gave jobs to many people who didn't have jos before. Unfortunately in modern warfare, money is funneled into a few expensive things like airplanes, rockets, tanks, etc. And all state of the art no less. This war has seen huge numbers of private contractors that are much farther out of reach and control than the army. If this war were helping the economy in any substantial or sutainable way, it would have happened by now. Not only by now, but even before the fuel prices jumped and wreaked havok with our ability to determine causes and effects with fuel effecting the economy. To Chris:
