JFK knew how to unite our party. Obama is no John Kennedy.

Hillary in 2012 !!

Obama picked the best guy for the job. He is someone who will be fighting for the middle class, not people who make more than 5 million a year.

Comment by Renee

Maybe he’s just testing the waters, maybe it’s a hoax. We can only hope. There is no way we’ll beat McCain if he really did pick Biden. I can’t believe he threw it all away for us.

Comment by AJZ

Obama has doomed his presidential hopes with his choice of Joe Biden as his running mate. He missed the opportunity to show he is above the fray by not picking Hillary Clinton. She deserved the nod, and he totally disrespected her and her millions of supporters by not evening vetting her as a possible pick. Joe Biden is a loose cannon. He spouts off at the mouth, and will be a liability to the Obama campaign, and he will soon regret his choice. He already has ceded to the pundits that he is in-experienced in world affairs, by picking Biden, and at the same time has sent out an unmistakable message to the American People that he is not ready to be President, and is not qualified to lead our nation.

Thank you, Major and Fox News

It’s OFFICIAL, it’s BIDEN !!

NObama: Biden ? Forget the “Houses” issue now..

BIDEN stated that “The ONE” NObama was NOT QUALIFIED in 2007 !!!

BIDEN signed and SUPPORTED the AUTHORIZATION to INVADE IRAQ as well as The SURGE – both of which NObama opposed!!

NObama seals his own fate by chosing Biden and disrespecting Hillary and her 18+ million supporters!

According to an interview on CNN Friday: Not only did “THE ONE” NObama not even consider Hillary as NObama had PROMISED !

THE ONE NObama did not even ASK Hillary’s opinion / perspective…

What a UNIFIER !! – NO TRUST another FLIP FLOP!!

NObama: NO JUDGEMENT / NO TRUST to LEAD – esp. as USA President

Democrat for McCLAIN in ’08 – Judgment and Honesty we can BELIVE IN !!

I knew it would be Joe Biden when I saw him handing out coffee and bagels to the reporters outside his house. That struck me as totally uncharacteristic of him, since he is a pompous, overweening ass. This will be interesting indeed.

Comment by Con10tious

Biden’s original ideas all come from someone else. Exams include a paper in law school and a speech while running for president last time. As plagiarism seems to be his theme, I think he’ll probably borrow defeat from Al and Hillary?

Comment by Con10tious

I hope Obama gets better at controlling things as he obviously did an extremely poor job of surprising anybody with his VP pick announcement. Remarkably some campaign hack on H&C last night was praising the campaign for doing such a great job. Mores the pity that it was Obama’s mis-step that led to the press to Biden’s door.

all i have to say is Mccain is looking better and better he will get my vote nov 5th

Remember Hillary’s 3am phone call ad. This sounds like the ultimate slap in the face to Hillary. I don’t buy for one minute that they were caught off guard by a leak and had to rush to to announce the VP pick. At 3am, come on?

Obama MISTAKE # 1: Choosing to run AGAINST Hillary Clinton (fellow Dem) to attain the DEM party’s ‘historic first’ (first woman president) for himself (first black man president) rather than choosing (as the lesser experienced candidate) to run WITH Hillary as her VP for the sake of the DEM party (Was Obama’s CHOICE TO RUN ever MEANT to bring about PARTY UNITY?).

Obama MISTAKE # 2: NOT VETTING Hillary (not even for th sake of appearances to benefit the Dem party’s unification) PROVING Obama has NO ABILITY to go beyond ‘politics’ anger and disagreement, be the BIGGER man in battle and pull the TEAM together, rather than rip it apart with his bare hands.

Obama MISTAKE # 3: NOT SELECTING Hillary Clinton as his VP (PROVING TO VOTERS [esp women] that not only did Obama throw his own Grandmother, pastor, friends under the bus, Obama WILL CHOOSE to LOSE over half of the entire DEM party by throwing them under the bus too).

Obama MISTAKE # 4: Obama’s naivete (because of droned and cloned and highly trained O-bots) who have convinced Obama HE CAN MAKE IT TO THE WHITE HOUSE without more than HALF of the DEM party’s support/votes.

Obama MISTAKE # 5: Obama’s FALSE claim to be the ‘CHANGE WE CAN BELIEVE IN’. (Joe Biden is NOT an example of change).

Obama MISTAKE # 6: Obama’s WORDS THAT MATTER are in turn the same words that America see’s coming back to BITE Obama in the end, esp the Obama words used to humiliate and discredit Hiallry Clinton’s bid for president (which America is beginning to see, are the SAME Obama WORDS that both Hillary and Joe Biden themselves used AGAINST Obama in the primaries).

Update at 11′

I think this is the smartest move obama could have done. He choose a man who has experience in all facets of government. THis will make it more difficult for Mc Cain to catch or beat obama.
I think McCain should just move to one of his 8 homes now.

Comment by Doak

What a let down for Hillary supporters. Obama has decided that Change is not all that important.

There is a reason no Senators have been elected President for a long time. They (the senators) work at a country club and have never been individually responsible for anything except re-election and they seem to only care about making political points and getting on TV. They speak strongly but have no power to enforce. It’s all over-the-top politics in the congress. We do not need that now, in fact we pay to much (taxes) for rookie leaders. Give me a governor any day – at least they had to deal with a budget on their own. This ticket is full of hot air, Biden pumps the balloon even more so than Obama – if that’s possible,. We’re in for a long two+ months of jawing with little substance.
This ticket needs some reality. My son wants to be president too (he’s 22) , he actually has more experience leading than Obama.
Would you want to work for one of the largest companies in the world that was to be led by someone who has no experience running anything…? and hasn’t earned it by accomplishments? I think he would be canned within a year, not 4 years – its an attempt (and confirmation) to “shore up” Obama’s lack of experience.

Comment by Greg C.

Biden is great for the GOP and bad for Dems…

To have a candidate as your VP that has more experience, very blunt, caustic, and appears to be the stronger of the two, only hurts Obama…

McCain would do well to choose someone that would be seen as consultative, gracious and wise, and someone whose personality is lighthearted and witty; quick on his toes but not seen as a threat to McCain. A polar opposite of Biden’s style.

Biden could probably be a pretty good president. His mouth will get him in trouble for certain. He only serves to highlight that Obama is not ready.

Comment by Brandy

I see that Barack Obama picked his own Dick Cheney. Interesting.

Comment by tR

If Obama chose someone like McCain (Biden a Washington insider with a wealth of foreign policy experience and a direct talker) over someone like him (Kaine new, younger, pro-change, inexperienced and a soft talker) what does that say about how he believes voters should choose when it counts!

Comment by kathy davenport

I’m 42,always voted a Dem.For the first time ever.I’ll be voteing for the other party,if the delicates,on the floor.Don’t change their VOTES,for Clinton. The Dem. party has lost my votes forever!I hate the other party alot.”BUT”,I’ll give them my vote before I do OBAMA.It doesn’t make any difference who is running mate is!

Comment by Don Walter

What a dig on Hillary! Obama couldn’t resist one last dig on Hillary’s 3am crisis campaign ad. Do you think she was up at 3am to take the test message that she wasn’t the VP choice. I think Hillary supporters will take this last jab to heart and not vote! Don Walter

Comment by Tony High

I think Obama made a bad choice in the VP pick. He should have pice Hillary Clinton. He has now made it much easier for McCain to win. They both are lacking experience to hold either office. Great job Obama. Its a sure win for McCain. That is one the first or many mistakes he has and will make as being our President. McCain will definitely get my vote in North Carolina.

Comment by Kim

Yea! A real donkey’s butt as a choice for VP. Typical stupid decision by Barack Obama. The first of many I’m sure if he becomes president. Even more reason to vote for John McCain. Can’t wait until November. Wooooo Hooooooo. Thank you B.O.

Comment by Mike

Biden has been a senator for over three decades, and it shows. He acts like he’s the smartest guy in the room, and he presents an endless flow of BS. Biden is the epitome of the establishment that Obama claims to have divorced himself from in his message of “change”. Another reversal, I guess.

I’m glad I was up to get the early morning message.

So the presidential candidate with 140 days in the Senate picks a VP with ‘36′ years in the Senate? Now that’s change…oh yeah, and hope! With Biden’s loose lips this could be interesting!

I am a Democrate and have never voted for a Republican in 30 years. This year I know I will NOT vote for Obama. I don”t like him. I think he has no clue what to do. He is blowing smoke around every coner. He is the one bringing race into it. Ever person that voted for Clinton has been slapped in the face. I hope this man looses.

Comment by Meghan

I cannot believe Obama would choose this OLD, WASHINGTON INSIDER, MORE OF THE SAME OLD POLITICS person for VP. Sort of eraces Obama’s entire PRIMARY MESSAGE!

Also, will Biden be comfortable riding in the Obama airplane with that strange New Age Logo painted on the tail — instead of America’s symbol ” the American Flag”.

Just saw Obama’s Ad of the old barn painting with that New Age Logo on it & did not move me!!!
Why isn’t THE AMERICAN FLAG his logo !!! Is Obama suggesting America adopt this New Age Logo!!!

Vote McCain Now & Vote Hillary in 2012.

Comment by cat

When will the media stop fixating on Obama’s ‘text message’ announcement? It was at best, something a zitty middle school kid would use to attrack attention! Now if he had used that method to annouce Hillary Clinton would be the VP choice, that would have been newsworthy.

Comment by John

Fantastic selection!!!! John McCain might as well pack up and head off to one of his homes.

Comment by AB

The Obama campaign should be ashamed of themselves. It is amazing that they would do such
a thing in trying to insult the Clintons and her supporters . The fact that Hillary was’nt even
considered for VP and Sen. Obama kept saying that she will be on anybody’s short list. Yeah,
right- except for himself. Do they think that the Americans are not smart enough not to notice
that? Then, they have the nerves to whine that the Clintons did not want to start campaigning for
Sen. Obama immediately. They are vindictive, just because the Clinton campaign did some of the
negative ads,but so did they. Infact, they were the ones who started it. Did they expect that she
would just roll over and play dead? God only knows what they are up to. This will come back to
them in the general election.

Comment by Dan from Los Angeles

How come when G.W. Bush chose Cheney as his V.P. back in 2000 everyone used the word Gravitas to describe the FACT that he (Bush) needed Cheney to add weight to his light experience. To the main-stream media the choice of Cheney showed that Bush lacked credibility.

When Obama, however, chooses an elder, and more experienced running mate you do not hear the same criticism from the main-stream, rather they say that Biden brings Balance. And, that this decision only demonstrates Obama’s wisdom, and ability, to make wise and decisive decisions.

It’s time to play hardball and expose the Imposter by introducing the Genuine Real Deal- Michael Steele- the perfect VP pick for McCain:
He’s a Home grown Black American
He’s Conservative
He’s Young and Good-looking
He’s is a BETTER Orator than Obama
He’s Catholic
He’s Pro-Life
He’s Republican
He’s a Unifier
He is the Original, Genuine “Change” Candidate

Comment by Adakin Valorem

“Change we can believe in!” Really? With Joe Biden?
What’s changed? The “new guy” does what Dems have always done…
Dems still wanna “tax the rich”.
Dems still wanna involk class envy.
Dems still wanna fall back on the 30 year Washington insider.
Yeah… real change…

Now its McCain’s turn.
Instead of picking Romney or Lieberman, why not get a REAL Washington outider… If John McCain want to trump Obama’s “Change” message, he needs to select Sarah Palin as his running mate.

Comment by Adakin Valorem

Think about the millions of ‘disenfranchised’ female Hillary supporters that have been summarily ignored by the Obama Campaign.

McCain could capture this female voting block by selecting the Governor of Alaska for his VEEP choice. Sarah Palin could hold her own against the Washington Monument: Joe Biden.

Chosing Sarah Palin would the the REAL Change we can believe in… while capturing the imagination of the voters that Obama has walked away from.

Comment by nan havlik

Hillary scared the Republicans. Biden with only 5,000 total votes in his past running, no, he doesn’t freighten anyone. He has to watch those “senior moments”. He and Obama together look like the “owl and the pussycat” in a boat, no good! Plus, Obama isn’t sure who is actually running for barak america…or president.

What Americans Do Not Need, is 4 more year of not allowing a vote on drilling for American oil, Americans can not afford is 4 more years of on the job training, or 4 more years of Senate hearings on steroids, or 4 more year of Nancy Pelosi`s no action issues democrats along with the incredibly bad judgment and inexperienced Junior Senator Barack Hussein Obama and shot from the hip Biden………Keep smiling….

Um, I remember around 1984 or 86, Biden became somewhat of a laughingstock because he had been caught plagiarizing some else’s work. I realize most people’s memory is fairly short, but Joe Biden seems like a strange pick to me…

Thanks for giving me a day off in November Obama! I just donated another $100 to help Hillary clear her debt that you caused her to have.
Had you picked Hillary, my donation would have gone to your Campaign.
Now, Didn’t you condem Hillary for Voting For The Iraq War? Didn’t you you Condem Hillary for being “Old Washington? Didn’t you Condem Hillary because she is old?
But, you picked Biden????? He is evrything you Condimbed Hillary for being.
Only difference is that Hillary is a Woman!
Mr Obama, why is it that your male camp workers get paid more than your Women camp workers?

Mr Obama, your choice of VP in my eyes is just another Flip Flop. Flip Flopping is the only Experience you have to date!

Mr Obama, how much have the Republicans padded in your pocket to help McCain win? They got their money’s worth! Job well done Mr. Obama. McCain presidency is now in the bag!

Attention:
My conscience will not allow me to vote for Barack Hussein Obama as President of the United States because of his raw background and bad judgment. I will with pride vote for John Sidney McCain III.

If you are wishing for hope and change, you best know what the salesman is selling.

Barack Obama is on the wrong side for America.

What is “ethics?” Merriam-Webster Dictionary defines ethics as: “the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation…a set of moral principles or values…the principles of conduct governing an individual or a group…a guiding philosophy.” Ethics is the art of what should be done, as opposed to what can be done. The debate about the ethical practices of presidential candidate deserves serious attention.

Ethics is doing the right thing for the right reasons every time.

Ethics violations will destroy both friend and foe.

Think about it.

I believe Major Garrett, in reporting from Springfield, Illinois stated that Kathleen Sebelius was not selected as a VP choice because she was pro-life. This cannot be further from the truth. She is a backer of “Tiller the baby killer” who is an outspoken proponent of partial-birth aboriton.

Comment by Linda Senior

Obama has picked a Winner! Joe Biden is a fabulous choice for Obama’s running mate!

The two senators seem to have a lot in common, personally, while Biden is the perfect vp candidate to round out the ticket, foreign policy and thirty -five years of experience in DC and so, so much more. Now we hear commentators on Fox, already saying, “Well, by choosing Biden, doesn’t Obama show an admission that he lacks experience?” Kennedy didn’t have a lot of experience, but Lyndon Johnson brought him Texas, anyway. Get over it. Obama chose well!

What a catastrophy!!! Very poor choice! Obama will lose this race for sure now! With Hillary he would have swept this nation with a big win! I’m sorely disappointed. Biden’s NOT THE GUY!

Comment by Cheryl Lane

It’s interesting to me how Biden doensn’t have the job yet and is lying already! A few days before the announcement he is quoted stating “I’m not the guy!” I’m sure this was just to protect the secret, but I’m also sure there was a more honest answer, like “no comment”, that would have still kept the secret. If we don’t demand intregrity in political canidates we get what we deserve.

To all Democrats that have felt cheated:

With the convention just around the corner, it is imperative that Democrats all around the country understand that whether or not Hillary is nominated, we are in this for the long haul. Senator Obama is an embarrassment to the Democratic Party.

Obama’s “change” message has just been destroyed by Joe Biden. No more jokes about McCain being an old man: Biden’s an old man also.

This primary has revealed DNC “leadership” to be corrupt, mean-spirited, and lacking respect for basic democratic principles. They have completely and effectively ceded the moral high ground to Republicans at this point.

• We have seen the race card played, with assistance from both Dean and Brazile.

• We have seen rampant sexism with no objection by the DNC.

• We have seen the superdelegates endorse as quid-pro-quo for campaign contributions.

• We have seen arm-twisting of the congressional delegates by “neutral” Nancy Pelosi to declare for Obama.

• We have seen an unabashed ageism campaign against John McCain, calling him “confused”, and that he has “lost his bearings”.

• We’ve seen a softening of support for the gay and lesbian community.

• We’ve seen caucus cheating.

• We’ve seen intimidation of Hillary supporters, hack attacks and coordinated threats against voters and media that dare to dissent.

• We’ve seen manipulation of the party nominating system and media to favor one candidate over another and the outright redistribution of votes cast for one Hillary and given to Obama.

This is now a democratic party in name only.

Maybe there is still hope for Senator Clinton. Obama is a complete embarrassment.

Comment by Jason Lacy

Hillary, I feel strongly was treated unfairly, and when I found out that one of “The Most Historical Moment’s” was passed up when Obama did not put Hillary on the ticket, my wife and my friends are VERY upset….300 years from now the USA would have looked back on history at the first African American and the 1st Woman put in the white house
We are all hardcore Dem’s….. but this game they played on the Clintons about being racists………….. hogwash!!!… The clintons did more for the african community than any president.

Why was no one wanting to point out the sexism that was being done against HIllary. African americans need to get over what the white people today HAD “NOTHING” to do with….. it was our ancestors that have been dead for 200 years that had slaves, not us. I get sick and tired of all these drug addicted, uneducated, hate mongers that call them selves african americans. Obama and his church calling america the “KKKA” ….. that made me sick … to see a hateful, unamerican like Obama win the primary … and the cherry on the cake … he spits at the Clinton legacy and picks someone else. My wife and I sat for the last few months hoping, praying that HIllary put on the ticket.
This is a slap in the face to the 18 million people like myself and family that voted for Hillary.

I know that the Dems want unity to get a dem in the white house…. but how can I vote for someone who had such disregard for Hillary Clinton, who sat in a church for 20 years, and said that “I could not dis own my own pastor like I could not dis own my own father?” He sat and listened to Hitler type propaganda for 20 years…. and he is going only distance himself from his church when the media made a big story of it.

Hillary shattered all the records in votes in a primary. Not to mention that the DNC gave Obama more votes in Michigan than he actually received. Then they split the Florida votes in 1/2 which was held fair and equal and his name was on the ballot.

Hillary Clinton won the primary, NOT Obama.

I apologize, but I am so angry I will either not vote at all or I will vote for Mccain. I will probably vote McCain…. to make my small contribution to the democratic party who let 18 million people down.

PS
Picking Biden….. Yeah that is some real “CHANGE” …….hes only been in the polotics for what 10 years longer than Hillary…. and he had all those speaches about how Hillary is the typical old politician and we would not get any change with her as president………..this is such a slap in the face to all americans who really want change… and makes Obama out to look like more than a flip flopper…. he has actually morphed in to a dolphin he flips so much

I hope FOX plays that clip when Biden was commenting on how intelligent, smart, articulate and has a real chance as an african american to be president … and how ALL the Black groups came out and slammed Biden for making a racist comment. The groups said “What does that mean…. the rest of us black people are not smart???”
The man was giving a compliment and he was accused of a racist remark…. this all makes me sick….. there will be a day when you say “Hello” to someone in the street and they will say “You saying that because I am black?”
(Rediculous)

Major Garrett,

Please clarify the PUMA movement for your viewers. They are not just “poor loser” Clinton supporters as the media presents them to be. They are in fact anti-DNC democrats upset that the primary process was flawed, if not rigged or fraudulent.

The majority of us are loyal democrats. I for one, have voted for every democratic candidate since JFK, even those I wasn’t backing. This year I will vote GOP to send the DNC a message that they cannot ram a candidate down my throat, no matter who they are. I would feel the same if they had tried to ram Hillary down my throat.

Comment by Jerry Allsman

Can someone from the FOX News crew ask if Joe Biden thinks Obama’s trip overseas has now qualified him to be President in Biden’s eyes?

If not, then will Joe Biden be giving Barack Obama the On-the-Job Training that Biden said Obama would need in the Presidential spot?

Comment by Michael in Atlanta

One reason Hillary was not chosen is she really does not want to be VP.

Another reason is there is a good chance she might undermine Obama’s presidency as VP.

A 3rd reason is Bill Clinton. I am not sure we want Bill roaming about the White House with time on his hands. It could get embarrising.

And to all you Hillary supporters who claim they will vote for John McCain, John McCain is only interested in your vote. He has no interest in the postions Hillary took on the issues of this election.

Comment by Barbara Abramson

As I was listening to some of the interviewers describe Joe Biden, one female said he was unknown so his speech at the convention would make himself know. Huge difference – he is not unknown, just simply unpicked for a myriad of campaigns. He is the consummate candidate and if my vote has anything to do with it – he will stay that way.

For Obvious reasons, Michael Steele has not been mentioned. Conservatives would never vote for him. Conservatives have issues with Colin Powell and Joe Liberman. And with McCain, they are holding their nose and supporting him. The guy the conservatives wanted was Mitt Romney, but the Republican base rejected him. The only way Republicans will vote for Michael Steele is to ignore the conservatives, again like they did with McCain.

So much has been said about the Democratic party unity, but the Republican party could be equally divided depending on John McCain’s choice for VP.

What!? Good policies with foreign countries??? Joe Biden what world does he live in. Seems to me that foreign countries HATE US ( America) . Since when has our foreign policy been Good? We have been at war with most of them at one time or another. What in the world is Obama thinking choosing Biden for vice presidency??? Tells me that Obama is not who i what for the nations leader. My opinion, we should refuse to vote in this years elections due to the lack of confident canidates. We (America) are in the worst shape that we have ever been in and still declining. When will we as America stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH .

No offense to Sen. Biden, but was he really the no. 1 choice for Obama? Or was the list short because of individuals not wanting the job.

Hillary did not want to be VP. Not second best on a ticket. She wants to be President
Biden is a perfect pick. Yes she did hurt the democratic party, but they will ralley in the end. Because they would rather have Obama than McCain.

As for McCain, I hope he picks Romney. If there is one thing the Republican Religious Right hate more than a Democrate, it is a Mormon. Shame on them.

Did Obama kiss Biden’s wife on the mouth when he greeted her and Biden at the DNC stage last nite? No news network has commented on it. This would be an outrage, if so! Obama would be kissing another mans’ wife – the VP nomanees’. When Al Gore kissed his own wife, Tipper at their DNC a big Hoop-la was made then.
