A Reminder About “Comments”
DENVER — 2 p.m. EDT
At Invesco Field at Mile High Stadium and will file a post shortly about last night and tonight, the history, the content and new polls showing an Obama bounce.
But first, please remember this about The Bourbon Room. I have to approve each and every comment. I have to do this in between everything else I do for the network — live shots, gather news, write packages, write and file radio reports, conduct interviews, and post on this blog. I don’t have my computer with me at all times and there are times, such as last night, when I choose sleep over approving comments (that choice is especially tempting after little sleep all week and an 18-hour work day).
I’m not asking for sympathy. It’s just an explanation. I can’t always approve your comments as rapidly as you want. If that means you give up on The Bourbon Room, that’s a reality we must live with.
As is clear from the comments I do approve, virtually nothing is out of bounds. I only screen for mindless vulgarity, racism and sexism directed at other participants in the conversation. It’s clear by now I approve everything directed at me.
I always try to approve these as fast as I can. And will continue to do so.
Another post soon.

Hi Major — I’m a college Eng professor and published author and read/watch foxnews daily. I’d be interested in talking about screening comments for you and free up your time and get those comments posted more quickly
I speed read and can easily and quickly pick out vulgarity, racism and sexism directed at other participants. Email me if you’d like to discuss this.

I have one comment or call it a Question! Why Not Condi Rice for VP??
Awesome pick I say
Joe
What the Dems say they want to come across in this speech doesn’t fit the scene. The scene looks more like a king or emperor talking to his subjects.
Keep up the good job!
Sir, I am disappointed with the news coverage from Fox. You guys seem to have just “haterade” against Obama. The man has risen against odds in America. He is intelligent; he ran a successful political campaign to get to this point; he has raised money that will be given away, but importantly – he has acomplished a feat that alot of people do not know of and none of you EVER give him a positive nothing. Is there not 1, 2, 3 positive things to say about him. I started watching Fox News about a year ago with Greta Van Sustern, (I liked her name) and she reported fair stuff. But you guys are borderline mean not “fair and balanced”
Hi Major,
I have been following nearly every moment of the DNC.
I am retired and living on a fixed income. After watching all the splindor, I am wondering what the price tag will be for both conventions.
Is this charged to the tax payer?
It really bothers me to see these Hollywood productions when my power bill has more than doubled this month and I’m wondering how to pay it.

Why doesn’t FOX hire someone to help you?
You are such a biased Obama bitch!!!! You have lost ALL objectivity and are now insignificant and in no way are you a legitimate reporter. You deserve to be fired and you are a disgrace to the reputation of reporters who live on in memory because they did their job the right way.
So…does that mean you won’t be quoting the Revs. Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton?
It seems Senator Obama has shown a lack of wise judegment by making the events of today into such an extravaganza with so many Americans suffering with economic issues – basics like food & housing.
Sec. Rice is probably going to vote for Sen. Obama !
And maybe hope to keep her job that I think she probably dearly loves !
Just a reminder about your reminder.
Chief personally approves every message
Chief sends to you. Chief depends on you
and the fox embeds to get his message
out to the people. Please tell the embeds
to quit censoring me for no reason other
than their own vanity. Lack of P.C. does
not necessarily constitute “mindless vulgarity”!
just heard obama make a comment that fathers should take more responsibility for their children, that really upsets me. just because his father did not support him don’t throw me into that group. i have been a father since 1965 and i have always taken responsibility for my children and still do even though one is a retire lt col in the u.s. military and the other is an investigator for the government doing background investigations for security clearances….
Loved this speech. MLK’s dream remains alive. But I have to laugh; your coverage was made it seem like you were covering the Republican National Convention. Could you possibly have more GOP guests at the Democratic convention? Your coverage is so partisan, we laugh at it as we would a comedy. When the keynote spoke one night, you were the only network not to cover it, but had Guilani as a guest instead. Guiliani. Are ya serious? Karl Rove: are ya serious?
The Barack Obama acceptance speech, as I saw it, began with a short 10 minute or so video montage of his family history on his mother’s side only, including the death of his mother, (kind of like Biden’s replaying of the death of his wife). Do those stories enhance their qualifications to be President, or were they intended to invite sympathy to the campaign? (I don’t remember the video mentioning his family’s decision to move out of the United States.)
The video then displayed some of his Chicago political experience. (However, the video left out any and all mention of his Chicago political and social mentors).
After that video Obama started in for the first 20 minutes of his oratory, bashing George W. Bush, with the most memorable line that Bush “sat on his hands while the people of New Orleans drowned”.
He then proceeded to label McCain 90% just like G.W. Bush, with the only really memorable jab being that he would not take a chance on a 10% change in America.
For another 10 minutes he once again paraded his family with inspirational quotes from his mother, Grandmother, and Grandfather, saying they were his celebrities, mounting another attack against the “celebrity” McCain Ad.
For the last 15 minutes Barack began listing a number of things he would “change”, without giving any real specifics as to how he would accomplish it. There was no mention of his experience in Washington, or any real legislative accomplishments in his speech at which would have given any indication that he has had success or experience there.
In fact, the only really memorable quote from the last part of his speech was that change comes from “outside” of Washington.
I’d say that though he used rhetoric that Democrats would certainly “want to hear”, he again was “typical Obama” in sharing no substance.
Though there was plenty of fanfare, I thought the “substance” was lacking.
Major, I think you are in the tank for obama! I am not vulgar or a racist, but almost all of my comments are not posted.Meanwhile you post all kinds of comments from someone who is an obama fan, pretending to be a republican, being racist and sexist, to make republicans look bad!You are not fair and balanced.
Thanks for all your hard work to point out so many truths that have been overlooked by the liberal media. It is a good thing when we are allowed to hear BOTH sides – the other stations have given us the liberal version of reality for too many years, and I truly appreciate your determined effort to discover the other side of the news. Fair and balanced . . . . and tough!
I have been a Democrat all of my years and I am 72 years of age. Like my mother a dyed in the wool democrat, however, this will be my first time to vote republican for John McCain. I was a Hilliary supporter and feel that she was done wrong and that she should not have given up her votes and supporters over to Obama. I do not feel that Obama is ready for the high office and that the people, true americans, are not ready either. I am a born again Christian, and I have never heard him say PRAISE THE LORD OR AMEN JESUS. I do not believe in abortion or same sex marriages.
I feel that Sarah Palin’s speech was really good. I am a small town American and that is good.

Dear Major Thanks for the great work you do. I do understand your point about the posting of comments and accept your explanation regarding taking time to screen and post comments. I have been commenting on the Fox blog sights for awhile now but my complaint is 75% of the time comments never get posted. My comments have never been vulgar, Never used foul language and never was anything but respectful. I give my comments and responses much thought before I do send them. However I do see comments that are racist and hateful and down right dumb that do make the screen. I would love to see Fox improve the situation as it now stands. Keep up the good work to you and everyone else at Fox news.
the news of Palin’s pregnant daughter is not news at all. The only people that are gossiping & making a big deal out of this is the media. So what if she’s pregnant. Every minute in America there’s a pregnancy happening & that should remain a family matter. Palin may be running for VP but what does her daughter’s preganancy have to do with that. There are much more important things happening in LA that are newsworthy so all of you Republican haters need to mind ur own business, & the media need to report on more important things other than the love life of a 17 yr. old. Shame on all of U. Let the Palin family settle their business in private & the general public keep our noses out of their home. Especially the media, so get a life.
